UNIVPM

The Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) is a public university located in Ancona (Italy) with a strong scientific and technological vocation, committed to high-quality education, research, and innovation. Within the UNIVPM Engineering Faculty, DIISM (Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences) and DICEA (Department of Civil, Building Engineering and Architecture) are the two core departments of CLIMRES. DIISM focuses on the development of advanced, cutting-edge measurement methodologies, with a primary emphasis on applications in industry, the built environment, and human comfort. Its core specialization lies in thermal and mechanical measurements, ensuring precision and continuous innovation in these fields. DICEA mainly works on the design of sustainable strategies, risk assessment, and mitigation in urban built environments, also considering the conservation and retrofit of existing structures, and the development of user-centered solutions, including those comprising preparedness, risk training, and evacuation during critical events (e.g., earthquakes, floods, fires, overcrowding). It also develops interactive and intelligent systems to optimize building performance and to manage smart built environments.
